InvoiceGenius ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, disclosed, and safeguarded when you use our mobile application (the "App") and related services (collectively, the "Service").

We collect information you provide directly to us, as well as information that is automatically collected when you use our Service.

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a password. You may also optionally provide a profile picture or company logo.
Document Data: The invoices, quotations, payslips, and vouchers you create, including client details, items, amounts, and any notes or terms you add. This data is stored securely on our servers.
Transaction and Purchase Information: When you purchase premium templates or watermark removal credits, Stripe (our payment processor) collects payment card details and billing information. We do not store your full credit card number; we only receive a confirmation of the transaction and the last four digits for reference.
Device and Usage Data: We may automatically collect certain information about your device, such as device type, operating system, and app version. We also collect push notification tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send you updates about your documents and purchases.
Log Data: Our servers automatically record information when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type (if applicable), and the time and date of your requests. This data is used for security and performance monitoring.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service (e.g., generating PDFs, storing documents, enabling template purchases).
To process transactions and send you related information, including purchase confirmations and invoices.
To send you administrative messages, such as security alerts, account updates, and changes to our policies.
To send push notifications about document status changes, template availability, and promotional offers (only with your consent). You can manage these notifications in your device settings.
To personalise your experience, such as displaying your company logo on documents when using premium templates.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: We engage third‑party companies and individuals to perform services on our behalf, such as:

- Firebase (Google LLC) – for push notifications and analytics. Firebase’s privacy policy can be found at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers – to store your data and deliver the Service.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred to the new owner.
With Your Consent: We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information and document data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days, except for information we are required to retain by law (such as transaction records for tax purposes).

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access and Update: You can access and update your profile information (name, email, password, company logo) directly within the App's Settings screen.
Data Deletion: You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. This will permanently remove your personal data and documents from our systems, subject to the retention period mentioned above.
Marketing Communications: You can opt out of promotional push notifications by adjusting the notification settings in the App or your device.
Watermark Credits: You can purchase watermark removal credits to generate documents without the InvoiceGenius watermark. The watermark is only applied when you do not have available credits and is automatically removed when credits are used.

6. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption of data in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest, secure authentication tokens, and regular security assessments. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that adequate safeguards are in place (e.g., standard contractual clauses).

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the App or by sending you a notification. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
